December 5, 2026 - February 28, 2027 |
The Phippen Museum is proud to present From the Heart, a special benefit exhibition and sale that reflects the generosity of those who believe in preserving and celebrating the art of the American West. Held periodically to support the museum's mission and programs, this unique exhibition features artwork generously donated from the private collection of Melvin Cook and Sonya P. Smith-Cook, gifted specifically to help the museum continue to grow and thrive.
Every work in the exhibition represents more than artistic excellence—it embodies a shared commitment to ensuring that the Phippen Museum remains a vibrant cultural resource for generations to come. Proceeds from the benefit sale directly support exhibitions, educational programming, the care and preservation of the Permanent Collection, and the essential operations that allow the museum to serve its community. Whether you are an established collector or discovering Western art for the first time, From the Heart offers a meaningful opportunity to acquire exceptional artwork while investing in the future of the Phippen Museum. Each purchase honors the generosity of its donors and helps continue the museum's legacy of preserving, exhibiting, and sharing the rich artistic heritage of the American West. |

Mountain Artists Guild’s Artist Spotlight
The Phippen Museum is pleased to partner with the Mountain Artists Guild to present Artist Spotlight, a juried exhibition featuring the exceptional work of Guild artists in the Kemper & Ethel Marley Gallery from October 10, 2026, through January 10, 2027. An opening reception will be held on October 9, 2026. This collaboration is especially meaningful to the Phippen Museum, as George Phippen was a founding member of the Mountain Artists Guild and a passionate advocate for the arts in Prescott. More than 70 years later, his legacy continues through the artists and organizations that help make Prescott’s arts community so vibrant. We are excited to celebrate that shared history while showcasing the creativity and talent of today’s Mountain Artists Guild members. |
A Growing Legacy
|
James Gallery
August 29 – November 29, 2026 |
The Phippen Museum began receiving donations of artwork and artifacts in the 1980s in support of its mission to preserve and exhibit museum quality Western art, and educate the public about the unique heritage, history, legends, and influence of the art of the American West.
A Growing Legacy brings together every artwork added to the Permanent Collection between 2022 and 2026, providing a comprehensive look at the collection’s growth during these years. The works featured in this exhibition represent the breadth and diversity of Western art and reflect the many ways artists have interpreted the people, places, stories, and traditions of the American West. As you explore the exhibition, we invite you to discover the stories behind these remarkable works and the artists who created them, while celebrating the generosity of those who have helped ensure that this cultural legacy will be preserved for generations to come. |
