Front Desk Front Desk Volunteers greet visitors, take admission payments, answer phones, and sell merchandise in the Museum Store. Front Desk shifts are 3 hours (10-1, 1-4). Front Desk Volunteers work as many as 1 shift a week or as few as 1 shift a month.
Hospitality Prepare food for Openings, Receptions or Special Events; greet and count guests at Openings and Receptions; assist with food se-up and/or clean up Receptions; assist at luncheons.
Docent Touring Docents take classes on art related topics, give tours of exhibits, do research, and perform school and public outreaches. Touring Docents meet once a month at the Museum.
Office Assistance Office Volunteers help with Bulk Mailing preparation, occasional data entry, and filing.
Facilities and Grounds Facilities and Grounds Volunteers help with general maintenance tasks including: replacing lights, packing or unpacking art, replacing A/C filters, simple repairs, moving portable walls and large pedestals or works of art during exhibit installations. Facilities and Grounds Volunteers meet every Tuesday morning at the Museum.
Curatorial Curatorial Volunteers assist the Museum Curator with cataloguing, cleaning, and research of the Museum's permanent art collection as well as temporary exhibits.
Phippen Western Art Show Every Memorial Day weekend the Phippen Museum hosts one of the largest outdoor western art sales in the country on the courthouse Square in Prescott. This enormous event takes many volunteers to help with: Booth sitting, helping artist's set-up, traffic control, cashiers, runners, sales, answering questions, hospitality, and many more opportunities. There is truly something for everyone!
